The Heckler & Koch USP Compacts are based on the full-size models, but combine compact size with optimum effective shooting performance. Features

The HK USP Compact 45 features a one piece machined slide made from nitro-carburized steel, a no snag, bobbed hammer, and a flared recurve trigger guard. It has a choice of corrosion resistant “hostile environment” blued finish or stainless steel slide. The trigger is a grooved target trigger with a pull of 51 N. The USP Compact 45 also features an ambidextrous magazine release lever, a contoured and extended slide release, and the extractor doubles as a loaded chamber indicator.

The specially designed captive recoil spring was built flat to replace the USP full-size mechanical recoil reduction system. This enabled the barrel to be shorter on the Compact. The flat design of the compression spring is contained in the captive recoil spring assembly by a polymer absorber bushing. This allows for the same recoil reduction and enables the compacts to take the punishment of high energy +P cartridges, including .45 ACP.

The slim, full-hand grip frame combined with the choice of interchangeable extended or flush-fitting magazine floorplates makes the USP Compact 45 easy to shoot without sacrificing concealability. Overall, this pistol is just over 7 inches long, a little over 5 inches tall, and 1.38 inches wide. The USP Compact 45 weighs in at just over 28 ounces.
