The Taurus GX4 XL emerges as a noteworthy evolution in the realm of compact firearms, marrying enhanced functionality with meticulous design improvements. This model introduces an extended slide, contributing an additional inch that significantly benefits shooting accuracy through both increased muzzle velocity and an expanded sight radius. Such enhancements are particularly advantageous for precision shooting, where every detail matters.

Central to the durability and longevity of the Taurus GX 4XL is its DLC-coated stainless steel barrel. This choice of material and coating ensures the barrel is remarkably resistant to wear, corrosion, and adverse weather conditions, thereby maintaining accuracy and performance over time.

Ergonomics and customization are also key aspects of the Taurus GX4 XL design. Users are presented with two backstrap options, enabling a tailored grip to individual preferences. Whether opting for the standard profile or the high-swell variant for those who favor an elevated wrist position, the pistol accommodates diverse handling styles.

The Taurus GX4 XL addresses the practical concerns of ammunition capacity with magazine options that hold either 11 or 13 rounds, offering both versatility and peace of mind. This feature underscores the model’s adaptability to different shooting contexts and user requirements.

Sighting is streamlined and effective in the Taurus GX4 XL, featuring a blackout steel serrated drift adjustable rear sight paired with a fixed white dot front sight. This setup facilitates quick and efficient target acquisition, even in the absence of a red dot sight.

The flat-face target trigger is a standout feature, designed for those who prioritize precision. It delivers a crisp sear break and a notably short reset, enhancing the shooter’s ability to perform rapid follow-up shots with heightened accuracy.

Style and substance go hand in hand with the Taurus GX4 XL, which boasts a carbon steel slide treated with gas nitride for added hardness. This not only contributes to the firearm’s aesthetic appeal but also its reliability across various shooting conditions.

In summary, the Taurus GX4 XL represents a fusion of form and function, offering a series of thoughtfully integrated features that enhance both performance and user experience without unnecessary complexities.

Review of the gun

Introduction on how we will review.

To promote a uniform accuracy assessment for our firearms, we’ve decided on a testing procedure that includes firing a total of 21 rounds, comprising a mix of hollow point, FMJ (Full Metal Jacket), and reloads, aimed at a target placed 21 feet away. After thorough consideration, we’re excited to reveal the unique method we’ll be using to evaluate these formidable firearms. We are proud to introduce the mascot of Clinger Holsters, “Clingie,” as the cornerstone of our rating system.

Our evaluation will be based on a 1-5 scale, where a score of 1 signifies a poor performance and a score of 5 denotes an outstanding one. The higher the number of “Clingies” awarded, the better the firearm has performed in our assessment.

What we will Judge

On the range, we had 2 shooters. We had the CEO of Clinger Holsters and the creative director. Both men are avid shooters, gun enthusiasts, and 2nd amendment advocates. Let’s see the average of their scores:
