It’s not the best, but it’s also not the worst and comes with all the bells and whistles of many of the Smith&Wessons we all have come to know and love. The mechanics are all the same, disassembly is simple, and reviewers can’t shut up about how it feels in the hand. It’s also customizable—you can order a spring replacement kit for those of you who prefer something lighter in your trigger than 8.5lbs. Read more below and then browse our Kydex S&W SD9VE holsters for concealed carry.

Features

It has a stamped sheet metal slide release and a plastic guide rod with great textured grips. Reviewer say this the SD9 VE has all “the bare essentials” including two small take-down tabs for cleaning. As far as safety is concerned, this pistol doesn’t have a manual safety or a grip (palm) safety, but you can get it in what is referred to as a MA legal trigger, with a pull of 10.5lbs if you so desire. There’s also a low capacity version.

In the box it comes with two chrome-finished magazines that fit nicely and glide smoothly into the magazine well. For those who are curious, many reviewers have shot this pistol dry (straight out of the box), dirty, clean and well lubricated, all without a hitch.

In the hand, this pistol sure feels like you spent way more than actual price. It has a high grip with an almost perfect grip angle, sure to not disappoint. The reviewers refer to the point of aim “points like an Irish Setter.” So, no worries as far as reliability is concerned.

In the perfect S&W SD9VE concealed carry holster, this pistol is sure to meet all your concealed carry needs and disappear on the hip with it’s 4-inch barrel, in the right IWB Smith and Wesson SD9VE holster, that is.
